Building loss announcement

At our Fall Membership Meeting, we made it officially known that we will be losing our theater space at the end of our current season. Building A (commonly known as The Barn) at the Johnson County Fairgrounds has housed shows for Iowa City Community Theatre for the last 60 years. Many fond memories and friendships have been made in that building, and it is certainly fitting that Follies will end our season, being a show about closing down a theater.
That said, ICCT will continue on and the board is actively working on securing locations for the upcoming 68th season and exploring permanent venue options. Right now, the best way to help us as we move forward is to continue to support us with your patronage, your donations, and your talent. Tickets are now on sale for our upcoming show, The Beggar’s Musical, which is being presented in conjunction with Combined Efforts Theatre. Please be on the lookout for an announcement about tickets for our December show, RENT, in the coming weeks as well. We are also still looking for directors for our next season, so we encourage those interested to visit our Directors Submission page to find more information, or feel free to pass that site on to people you think may be interested. We will also have calls throughout the rest of our season for volunteers to help us as we prepare to move out of our space, so watch your email, our Facebook page, and our website. If you would like more information about our current situation, or have information you think may help us as we look to find performance and storage space, please email our Treasurer at treasurer@iowacitycommunitytheatre.com. Again, thanks to all our patrons, members and volunteers; You have sustained and appreciated us through 67 seasons, and we hope, with your support, we’ll be here at least another 67 more.
